EntreFlamenco Company, a professional flamenco company from Spain, will open their 2012 season with new production AIRE at The EntreFlamenco Dance Space, February 3rd-4th at 8:30 p.m.

The international cast includes Directors/Flamenco Masters Antonio Granjero and Estefania Ramirez from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain and their company, EntreFlamenco. Musicians included in the cast are Guitarristas Ricardo Anglada, Brent del Bianco and Singer Roberto Lorente from Madrid.

AIRE is a full-length dance performance that has received the 2011 Choreography award from the Artist Foundation of San Antonio. This new production will showcase authentic flamenco music and dance from Southern Spain featuring group choreographies, solos and duets, as well as innovative musical works.

EntreFlamenco Company was founded by Antonio Granjero in 1998. Based originally in Madrid, Spain, the company traveled throughout the Iberian peninsula in the Palau de la Musica de Barcelona, Festival de Verano de la Communidad de Madrid and Ciclos Culturales de Alcala de Henares (Madrid). The company has also traveled the United States and Central America performing in the Houston Hobby Center (Houston, TX), Charline McCombs Empire Theatre (San Antonio, TX), Festival Flamenco de Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA), Teatro National de Panama (Panama City, Panama), Rio Grande Theare (Las Cruces, NM), Maria Benitez Teatro (Santa Fe, NM).

The mission of EntreFlamenco Company is to promote, share and educate the public about the history and evolution of flamenco culture through music and dance performance, as well as create and prepare professional dancers.

The creation of this work was made possible in part by an award from the Artist Foundation of San Antonio, with funding provided by the Cultural Collaborative of the City of San Antonio.

Don’t miss this your opportunity to see America’s exclusive Flamenco Company from Spain. Previous performances given by Granjero, Ramirez and EntreFlamenco Company have been complete sellouts and also recognized as BEST OF DANCE in 2009 and “high octane show” by the San Antonio Express News. This company presented the 2011 Season with a successful 5-week run of shows which took place in the Maria Benitez Teatro in Santa Fe, New Mexico as well as their San Antonio season. Performances to continue through April on a month basis.
