The City of San Antonio’s Office of Cultural Affairs and Economic Development Department support professional development opportunities as part of The Cultural Collaborative implementation.

From May 16-18, 2008, NYC’s Creative Capital conducted a professional development retreat for San Antonio artists. The goal of the retreat was to provide professional artists with the tools to organize, plan, and sustain their creative careers. These intensive weekend-long retreat covered the topics of marketing/public relations and fundraising with a particular emphasis on strategic planning.

The retreat aims to help artists:
·          Break patterns of crisis management and increase satisfaction in art practices and careers.
·          Identify, acquire, and build skills to reach goals with individual projects and/or career objectives.
·          Communicate clearly and effectively about your work.
